| QuadTech Pre-Announces 3 New
Products |
Working to fulfill our customer's test needs,
QuadTech
is pleased to give you a sneak peak at 3 new instruments: the 1868
Megohmmeter, the Guardian 1050 Ground Bond Tester, and the Sentry 50 Plus
Ground Bond Tester, which are scheduled for release early this summer.
The 1868 Megohmmeter has fast charge capability
with Charge Current to 80mA on the 1kV model and to 18mA on the 5kV model.
Measure resistance from 10kW up to 1PW with accuracy of ± 2% to 1TW or leakage current down to 1pA with an accuracy of
± 2%, ± 1pA. The 1868 Megohmmeter comes standard with RS232, IEEE
and Remote I/O interfaces, Programmable Limits, Floating power supply (1kV
model), Contact Check Function and more!
The Guardian 1050 and Sentry 50 Plus provide
Ground Bond Testing up to 45A and 30A, respectively, with programmable
source voltage from 1-8V rms. The ability to limit the voltage to the DUT meets
the low voltage requirement of CSA 22.2 No. 0.4 Bonding and Grounding of
Electrical Equipment (4V, 30A, 100mW limit, 2-minute
test) plus many others. User programmable high and low resistance limits with
Pass/Fail indication make these testers ideal for production Go/NoGo testing.
Plus these ground bond testers are compatible with QuadTech's
Guardian
and Sentry Series Hipot Testers for a complete Electrical Safety Test
solution. |

Application Notes |
| QuadTech has
recently added New Application Notes to its Online Technical Library. Authored
by respected engineers, scientists and partners of QuadTech, these application
notes provide detailed information on specific tests and/or specific uses of
QuadTech instruments. |
A New
Reliability Diagnostic for Aged Insulation Systems Based on Cure
Monitoring... |
| Courtesy of
Donald Speer, this article details a curing process that monitors the aging
effects on coils over time. The device is heated to cure process temperature
and any differences in leakage current are measured. [Full Text:

Determining
Cure of A Varnish/Resin After Impregnation... |
Courtesy of
Donald Speer, this article details the employment of a QuadTech 1865
Megohmmeter to monitor leakage current during a stator or transformer's curing
process. [Full Text:

Horizon -
Marine Application |
Courtesy of
CableTest Systems Inc., this application note illustrates the use of the
Horizon 1500 Wiring Analyzer for In-Process testing of the electrical wiring
harnesses used by boat manufacturers. [Full Text:

Mass
HiPot Testing |
| Courtesy of
CableTest Systems Inc., this technical bulletin illustrates the method of
testing multiple wires (nets) by grouping them together. The Mass Hipot method
saves precious test time as compared to the Linear Hipot testing method. [Full

3rd IEC 60601-1 Article Published in MDDI
Magazine |
The 3rd article in the IEC 60601-1 series co-authored by
Leo Eisner of Eisner Safety Consultants, Dan Modi of Alcon Research and Robert
Brown of QuadTech was published in the May 2004 issue of MDDI magazine.
"IEC
60601-1: Medical Device Marking and Labeling" discusses why labeling of
medical devices is safety-critical and provides details on Symbols, SI units,
Markings, Instructions and many more label requirements. As in the first two
articles in this IEC 60601-1 series, the national requirements from the U.S.,
